Las Vegas Storm Announcement
Due to challenges in scheduling games and fielding qualified teams for competitive games the Las Vegas Storm will not be fielding 16 and 18 AAA teams for the 2013/2014 season. We have spent the past few months working to roster both the 16 and 18 AAA teams and find suitable games. When we first started the Las Vegas Storm AAA program the goal was to create an affordable AAA program for Las Vegas elite hockey youth to grow and develop their skills. The past two years there have been many changes across the country at the Triple A level and it is proving more difficult to schedule the right quality of games, field competitive teams and keep the program affordable.
Supporting a Triple A program in Las Vegas has required a great deal of outside financial support. This support was generously given with the express intention that it would directly benefit the Las Vegas youth hockey community. Unfortunately to this point fielding Triple A teams has required that an overwhelming majority of the players come from out of town. This has required a great deal of energy and resources that would be better dedicated to our local youth hockey. Both the Las Vegas Ice Center and the founder of the Las Vegas Storm AAA program, Kirk Brooks, are committed to growing hockey in the Las Vegas Valley at all Levels. We appreciate your support and your understanding.
